PDRM Head Coach

In 2023, Dinesvaran 'Duke' Krishnan took on the role of player-coach for the Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM) rugby team, stepping into a squad that had struggled for years to break their losing streak. With his vast experience from the Japan Top League and international rugby, Duke brought a new level of discipline, tactical awareness, and high-performance training to the team. His leadership on and off the field ignited a shift in mindset, transforming PDRM into a formidable force. That year, against all odds, they shattered expectations and lifted the Piala Agong championship, a historic moment that ended their long drought and re-established their presence in Malaysian rugby.

Following this success, Duke was appointed head coach for PDRM’s 2024 Piala Agong campaign, entrusted with the challenge of defending their hard-earned title. His meticulous approach to game strategy, player conditioning, and mental toughness proved instrumental in the team’s continued dominance. Under his guidance, PDRM showcased relentless determination and skill, culminating in a 43-29 victory over Johor in the grand final at Stadium UiTM Shah Alam. Duke’s influence not only shaped the squad into champions once again but also solidified PDRM’s legacy as a rising powerhouse in Malaysian rugby.
